This 50’s ranch home sits on a fantastic site with mountain and lake views. The main focus for the redesign was to take full advantage of the views and bring in as much natural light as possible. In order to achieve our goal, a large portion of the roof and rear wall were removed. A high roof with clerestory glass floats above the main living space and the kitchen. A 36′ sliding glass wall blurs the distinction of the interior and exterior spaces. The low, rustic front porch was removed and replaced with a modern interpretation, that maintains the mid century look from the street. The basic form of the ranch home is prevalent, while the new spaces take on a modern aesthetic.
